Ohio shoppers are no longer taxed on feminine hygiene products

OHIO — Ohioans are no longer paying tax on feminine hygiene products.

This includes tampons, panty liners, menstrual cups, and sanitary products.

A law repealing the tax went into effect Wednesday.

State Rep. Niraj Antani from Miamisburg wrote this part of the law. He said this will save Ohio taxpayers $4 million each year.

“I believe in tax cuts. I think that Ohioans should be able to keep as much of their hard earned money as they can,” Antani said Friday.

Antani also said this was the fair thing to do.

“It’s not just about the tax cut. It is about the tax cut and it is a savings. But it’s also about equality under the law,” Antani said.
