A woman has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after her 100-year-old mother starved to death.
Mary Strawser was sentenced to 18 months in prison after her mother, Blanche Effie Cowen, 100, died. The victim’s last bath was in May of 2013, and she died in March of 2014, authorities said.
At the time of her death, the Coroner’s Office said the victim had feces on her body, a rotting diaper and bed sores.
