According to investigators, a zoning complaint led to police finding unsafe conditions and other possible criminal activity.

“Our zoning guys were out here doing some code enforcement on the house,” said Kettering Police Officer Joe Ferrell.  “Through the course of that investigation, we realized that we’ve got at least a child endangering investigation that we're going to be doing here.”

Long is booked on preliminary charges of felony drug possession, child endangering and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, jail records show.

Ferrell said its also possible some stolen property may have been located in the house, however police are still working that part of the investigation.
