The bomb squad from Wright Patterson Air Force Base removed a WWII era hand grenade from a storage area and disposed of it safely.
Shortly before noon Saturday, Centerville police responded to Carters Grove Road located within The Woods Of Centerville on a report of a suspicious item located inside a storage area.
Upon arrival, police learned of a concern from a resident who spoke of a paperweight item located in a storage shed.
The WPAFB bomb squad was contacted to handle the grenade.
The hand grenade was taken off premise.
No one was injured from the incident and it was unknown if anyone faces any charges from having the explosive device.
