WEST CARROLLTON — As she drove on South Alex Road in West Carrollton with her 2-year-old daughter, Sara Holtzman of Centerville was given a dangerous scare when a brick hit the front of her car.
“It was one really, really solid boom and I ducked,” Hotlzman said.
“I thought either something was coming through my windshield or honestly I thought I could have been shot at.”
Holtzman said she and her daughter were travelling to her mother’s house in West Carrollton days ago when an unknown person threw a brick that dented her car near the top of its windshield.
After calling police, Holtzman said officers found a brick lying next to her car and told her she isn’t the first to experience this dangerous situation.
“When I called 9-1-1, they said it wasn’t the first time they had received calls and complaints such as this,” Holtzman said.
While the brick did not come through the car’s windshield, Holtzman said had it shattered into the car the brick could have seriously hurt her daughter.
“Had it [the brick] come through the windshield it would have been pretty well close to hitting her,” Holtzman said.
Holtzman said she is happy to be safe, but now has to face the financial damage the unknown vandals caused.
“I have to pay my deductible. I have to deal with insurance. I have to deal with body shops,” Holtzman said, adding, “Just reckless behavior…I don’t know if it’s fun for them or what.”
