SPRINGFIELD — Police are investigating after a deadly shooting in Springfield Wednesday afternoon.

As reported on News Center 7 at 11:00, Springfield police were called to the 100 block of East Cecil Street for reports of a shooting around 3:45 p.m., according to Chief Allison Elliott.

“A lot of this is still under investigation at the time, but there is a person of interest that our detectives and officers are speaking with at this time," Elliott said.
Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate.
