Dayton & Montgomery County’s Women, Infants, and Children Program is now offering services on a walk-in basis to all participants at all three clinic sites.
The policy ends requiring that WIC participants schedule appointments three to six months ahead of time.
Walk-in services allow greater flexibility for all participants, program supervisor Tracey Waller said in a statement released Tuesday afternoon.
WIC helps pregnant women, breastfeeding women, women who recently had a baby, infants, and children up to 5 years of age.
The program provides supplemental nutritious foods, education on healthy eating, breastfeeding support and referrals for income-eligible women and children.
