XENIA — Detectives are investigating whether two vehicle fires in Xenia Wednesday morning are due to a possible arson.

Crews responded to the Deer Creek of Xenia Apartments and were met with a truck and car both on fire in the parking lot around 2:30 a.m.
The initial dispatch was for the fully engulfed truck, but when firefighters arrived, the flames had spread to a neighboring car.
Police say witnesses reportedly saw an unidentified male speeding away from the area in a vehicle around the same time the fires occurred.
Authorities set a perimeter and conducted a brief search of the area, but did not locate the individual.
Both the truck and car suffered damage as a result of the fire, with the truck being considered a total loss.
