Police are trying to locate Akil Hughes, who law enforcement says was last seen Wednesday, August 25 at approximately 10 a.m. when he left his home on Penridge Drive to take a walk.

The last known contact from Hughes was a text message that morning that he sent at approximately 10:56 a.m., and since then there has been no contact with family, friends or his employer, according to police.

The police department is asking people in the area of Wilmington Pike and Centerville Station Road to check any available video recorded on Wednesday, August 25 between 11:00 am and 8:00 p.m. for footage of Hughes.

Police say that a citizen’s call helped track Hughes to that location, and authorities are trying to determine which direction he may have gone on Wilmington Pk.
