DAYTON — A standoff in Dayton ends after two people were seen surrounding early Friday morning.

Montgomery County Regional Dispatch says police were out at Mertland Avenue and Gunner Avenue since 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

An officer told our crews they came out to the house with a warrant for an arrest.

The occupant barricaded himself inside and told police the two had COVID-19.

Then at approximately 2:30 a.m. SWAT was called to the scene.

Our crews on the scene say two people had come out with their hands up around 4:26 a.m.

After the man surrendered SWAT went into the house to see if anyone was still inside. That’s when they found a growing operation in the home. Currently, they are requesting a second warrant now.

Earlier our crews heard crews giving verbal commands to the suspect.

Teargas could also be heard being deployed.

Further details have not been made available at this time.

We are working to learn the names of the two who left the building.

Once we learn more we will update this story.
