Union City man hurt in I-70 crash

A Union City man was ejected from his car when it struck a semitrailer and guardrail on westbound Interstate 70 near Wayne County, Ind., Tuesday.

Dustin Alexander, 33, was taken by CareFlight with internal injuries after he lost control of his Pontiac trying to pass a car using the median, according to the Indiana State Police.

Alexander's car struck a guardrail two times before hitting the semi and the guardrail again, according to ISP.

Troopers said he was not wearing a seatbelt, but his three passengers, one woman and two children, were. They were uninjured during the 1:30 p.m. crash.

The semi driver, 30-year-old Youssef Youseff of Bayonne, N.J., was not injured, according to ISP.

Alexander's was not available. It'snot clear if he will be cited.

Westbound I-70 was closed for one-and-a-half hours due to the crash.
