Trooper hit by car, taken to hospital in Beavercreek Twp.

GREENE COUNTY — An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper was injured after being hit by a car on Trebein Road in Butler Township early Sunday morning.

Around 4 a.m. troopers were called to a car that was possibly involved in a crash on Trebein road. When they arrived on scene troopers found the car in a ditch abandoned, according to a release.

A wrecker was called to the scene to remove the car from the ditch.

Trooper Dylan Dunlap was helping with traffic control when he was hit by a a car driven by Opal Cboins, 42, of Xenia, according to OSHP.

Dunlap was taken to Kettering Health’s Soin Medical Center with minor injuries. He has since been treated and released.

Cboins was not injured during the crash.

The roadway was closed from around 5 a.m. until 9 a.m. while crews cleared the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

OSHP reminded motorists to proceed with caution anytime the see flashing lights ahead.
