An upper-level system and surface front will produce strong winds heading into the afternoon and evening. Here's what you need to know:

  • Winds will be gusty mainly between 2 and 10 p.m.
  • Winds will be out of the northwest gusting from 30 to 40 mph

Drivers should use caution on the roads, especially when driving high-profile vehicles like a truck or SUV. The wind could cause swerving, so leave plenty of space between cars. Winds will be out of the northwest, so drivers traveling on Interstate 75 or west on Interstate 70 will be affected more.

Homeowners should make sure to tie down or bring in Halloween decorations Saturday morning. Gusts could cause the decorations to become lose or blow around.

Extra issue: Rain showers also will move through in the late afternoon, making the roads wet and harder to drive on. At night, rain showers will end, but a few wet flakes might mix in.

Winds will relax overnight Saturday into Sunday.
