Cousin Vinny’s pizza driver robbery suspect in custody after standoff

UPDATE @ 10:20 p.m.:

A man was taken into custody early Saturday morning following a standoff after the armed robbery of a Cousin Vinny’s pizza delivery driver.

The suspect was apprehended in the 2100 block of Cadie Avenue in Harrison Twp. The robbery was reported just after 1 a.m., according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies did not identify the suspect, however, 23-year-old Douglas Kyle Vanderpool was arrested at 4:20 a.m. in the 2100 block of Cadie Avenue by sheriff’s deputies, online Montgomery County Jail records show.

He was booked on suspicion of aggravated robbery and having weapons under disability for a prior felony conviction; no formal charges have been filed.

Vanderpool also was booked on a warrant for aggravated possession of drugs. He is being held on $10,000 bond.

A gun was used during the robbery of a Cousin Vinny’s delivery driver that took place before the standoff Saturday morning on Cadie Avenue, according to dispatch.

A man is in custody following the standoff that took place in the 2100 block of Cadie Avenue, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

No shots were fired, according to reports.

Police are on scene of a standoff in the 2100 block of Cadie Avenue after a reported robbery in Northridge early Saturday morning, according to dispatch.

The incident occurred just after 1 a.m., per initial reports.

The standoff reportedly occurred after a Cousin Vinny’s Pizza delivery driver was robbed while making a delivery.
