Service Department Director Chris Moore said the goal is to have the trucks equipped to plow the city’s 14 snow routes by Nov. 1.

Mechanics are checking everything from brakes and tires to de-icing equipment, according to a release.

The city said it has more than 3,000 tons of road salt ready to use.
