Sheriff: Both people involved in Springfield shooting appeared intoxicated

UPDATE @ 5:30 p.m. (April 30): Both subjects in a Sunday morning shooting on Cheyenne Avenue that left one of them wounded appeared to be intoxicated, Clark County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Jeff Meyer said Monday.

Beside the one person who suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, he and the other male suspected of firing the handgun also suffered non-life threatening injuries, Meyer said.

Police on Monday were still collecting and analyzing evidence and interviewing both males and witnesses to determine what caused the shooting.

No charges have been filed and no names have been released, Meyer said.

Both parties involved have been interviewed and police are not looking for a suspect according to Chief Deputy Jeff Meyer of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

FIRST REPORT (April 29)

Springfield paramedics and Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting reported in Springfield Sunday.

Crews were dispatched to the area of the 1100 block of Cheyenne Avenue around 2:40 a.m.

According to initial scanner reports, a victim was shot multiple times.
