SPRINGFIELD — A CareFlight medical helicopter has been requested to transport one victim of a crash on South Limestone Street in Springfield Wednesday morning, according to initial reports.

The crash was reported in the 1900 block of South Limestone Street, between Leffel Lane and John Street around 8 a.m.

Two medics were requested to the scene, along with a medical helicopter, which was asked to meet the ground ambulance at Springfield Regional Medical Center to transport the crash victim.
The driver suffered injuries officials described as serious and life-threatening.
Police have blocked the northbound lanes of South Limestone Street due to the crash.
