Driver in rollover crash involving Snap-on Tools truck ID’d

TIPP CITY — UPDATE @ 2:33 p.m. (March 7):

Deputies have identified the man driving the Snap-on Tools truck that overturned on Peters Pike near Tipp City as Michael Clawson, 56.

Clawson had left home for work when he veered off the road slightly and lost control, causing the crash, deputies said.

Clawson suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Over $100,000 in tools were in Clawson’s truck.

It took nine hours to clean up the wreckage before the road was reopened, deputies said.

UPDATE @7:10 a.m. (March 6)

A driver has been extricated and taken to a local hospital following a rollover crash.

A Snap-on Tool Truck rolled over, trapping the driver on Peters Pike.

The driver was pinned for about an hour.

A CareFlight medical helicopter has been requested to a reported semi rollover crash on Peters Pike, north of the Dayton airport in Miami County Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the 7600 block of Peters Pike near Ginghamsburg-Frederick Road around 6:05 a.m. on reports of a crash involving a semi.

Initial reports indicate a semi is on its top and the driver is trapped inside. A CareFlight medical helicopter has been requested to transport the driver after crews free the driver from the crash, according to scanner traffic.
