MIAMI VALLEY — As gas prices continue to skyrocket, commuters in the Miami Valley say they are feeling the strain on their wallets.
Three area business owners said they’re feeling the impacts of raising gas prices.
Robert Gunn, owner of Illy’s Fire Pizza, told News Center 7′s Candace Price that he does the bulk of his driving being to support his restaurant.
“[I’m] traveling to Cincinnati a lot of time to the restaurant depot there,” Gunn said.
Tae Winston, owner of Entrepreneur Shoppe & Connection, said she drives 24/7 from both work and volunteering. She said she travels as far as Franklin.
“I used to be able to put $20 in and at least put me on half [a tank]. I put $30 in and it wasn’t even on half the other day,” Winston said.
Winston said if prices continue to go up, she’ll have to make some adjustments.
“I would probably have to pull back,” Winston said.

Anthony Thomas told WHIO that he spends $100 on gas everyday.
“I drive from Beavercreek all the way to Keowee [in] Dayton and back over in Beavercreek,” Thomas, owner of Taco Street Co., said.
Thomas also said he would have to make changes if prices continue to rise. In his case, it would mean charging his customers more.
“It’s a domino effect. You’ve got drivers, 18 wheelers — trickles down to the consumer,” Thomas said.
