UPDATE @ 5:01 p.m.: A 98-year-old woman said to have been rescued from a trailer fire in West Carrollton has been taken to Kettering Medical Center as a precaution because she suffered some smoke inhalation, West Carrollton Fire Capt. Adam Blake said.
Blake said the fire, which caused heavy damage throughout the trailer located in the middle section of the Harmony Mobile Home Park, appears to have started in the middle of the unit near an air conditioner.
The woman was in her trailer at the time of the fire and neighbor Joann Ferguson said her husband went into the unit and helped the woman out to safety.
Ferguson said her husband was leaving their home when he saw the flames.
Capt. Blake he could not confirm what Ferguson said, but said he and his crew were still gathering facts.
A family member said the woman will be staying with relatives once she’s released from the hospital.
