3 in custody in months long drug investigation in Kettering

KETTERING — Three people were taken into custody from a home in handcuffs this morning on Scioto Court after what police described as a months long investigation into suspected drug activity.

At least a dozen officers were in the area of the 1900 block of Scioto around 9:45 a.m. in tactical gear and approached a home and removed the men from the house.

“This all came about from patrol doing a lot of activity in this area, which led to some surveillance, which eventually led to the warrant” said Kettering Officer Joe Ferrell.

Ferrell said the investigation involved marijuana.

Police said the house has been part of an ongoing drug investigation for about six months involving officers from Kettering Police, Tactical Crime Suppression Unit and the ACE Task Force.

Officers were still searching the home Friday morning, so details on what may have been found inside was not immediately available.

The names of the three people taken into custody were not immediately available.
