Teen injured in hit-and-run; Police investigating

DAYTON — Detectives of the Dayton Police Department Traffic Services Unit are looking for information on a hit-and-run crash after a teen was hit by a car while waiting for the school bus Wednesday morning.

At 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday, police said an 18-year-old male was hit by a car on North Main Street near Maplelawn Drive. Police said he was critically injured.

According to a witness, the vehicle drove onto the sidewalk and hit the victim, then drove away northbound on North Main Street.

Police said the suspect vehicle was a black 2010-2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The vehicle should have front and passenger side damage from the crash. A witness told police that the headlights were out on one side.

Additionally, police said the vehicle should be missing a silver trim from the top half of the grille.
