Police investigating string of Springboro thefts

SPRINGBORO — Springboro Police are warning residents of an increase in car thefts, as well as thefts of items left in vehicles.

Police told News Center 7 that an ongoing investigation revealed that a group of teenagers out of Cincinnati is believed to be responsible. Those involved are believed the be between the ages of 13 and 19.

According to police, the teens enter neighborhoods and target unlocked cars. The incidents appear to happen randomly and at all hours of the day or night.

Residents are reminded to make sure their cars and secured when parked, and that their garage doors are closed at night.

Police encourage residents to report any suspicious activity to police. Additionally, police ask residents to review their home security systems for any suspicious activity. Suspects were caught on camera outside of two Springboro homes over the past month.
