7 people, 3 dogs displaced after fire damages Xenia home

Xenia fire officials say a cause in this fire has not been determined but it is not being considered suspicious. Damages are estimated at $15,000.

EARLIER REPORT

Seven people and three dogs will be displaced tonight after fire damaged their home on Cornwall Drive in Xenia Wednesday night.

Firefighters were first dispatched to the home in the 2500 block of Cornwall Drive around 9:30 p.m. after receiving a fire alarm from the residence.

Lt. Cory Stroup with the Xenia Fire Division said a small fire was located in the basement of the house when crews arrived on scene and was quickly extinguished.

The occupants of the home, seven people and three dogs, were able to safely evacuate the home but will be displaced for the night.

The cause of the blaze has not been determined and is under investigation by a fire investigator. Stroup said damage is estimated between $15,000 and $20,000.

No injuries were reported.
