Woman killed in I-75 crash near Wapakoneta identified

UPDATE @ 6:34 a.m.

An Antwerp, Ohio woman is dead following a crash on I-75 and U.S. 33 in Auglaize County Saturday afternoon, according to an Ohio State Highway Patrol release.

Bethany Reinhart, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to Wapakoneta post deputies.

Reinhart failed to stop at the bottom of an I-75 exit ramp before turning westbound onto U.S. 33 and into the path of an eastbound semi.

The 70-year-old driver of the semi was treated at the scene for minor injuries, according to the release.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and neither is suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Deputies said Wapakoneta fire and EMS crews assisted at the scene.

UPDATE @ 4:05 p.m.

A 24-year-old woman from Antwerp, Ohio was killed in a crash involving a semitrailer at U.S. 33 and I-75 in Wapakoneta.

The crash happened early this afternoon when a brown Mercury Sable, driven by the victim, exited I-75 failed to yield and collided with a semitrailer.

The semi driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

According to the patrol, the fatal victim was wearing a seat belt and there are no signs of drugs/alcohol being a factor.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol Wapakoneta Post is investigating a fatal crash that happened this afternoon.

The crash is on U.S. 33 West just under the overpass at I-75.

The crash was reported to the patrol at 1:02 p.m.
