GREENE COUNTY — UPDATE @ 7:45 a.m.:
Don Gebele, a spokesperson for DP&L, said the outage was caused by a crash that occurred earlier today on Bellbrook Avenue involving a vehicle crashing into a pole.
When crews arrived on the scene to fix a damaged pole, there was more damage that needed to be repaired, so they turned off power for a larger area.
Gebele indicated that power should be restored around 8 a.m. today.
Over 1,800 people are without power in Greene County.
A total of 1,856 DP&L customers are in the dark according to their outage map.
The outage was reported around 6:50 a.m.
