DAYTON — The Dublin Pub will be holding a 50/50 drawing to raise money in support of a long-time volunteer officer who is currently suffering from health complications.
Pat McCoy served in the Army before coming to the Miami Township Police Department. He retired from Miami Twp. PD in 2020 and is currently a transfer officer for the West Carrollton Police Department.

McCoy was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer in February. He suffered a massive stroke the day before he was meant to start his chemotherapy treatments, according to Cheryl Dillin, 50/50 organizer.
“The stroke left him without the use of his right hand, unable to walk unaided and unable to speak,” Dillin said.
All the proceeds from the 50/50 at the Dublin Pub will go toward McCoy’s recovery efforts, including his medical bills.

“Thanks to the Dublin Pub and the 50/50 drawing, we may be able to provide some much needed immediate financial relief to an officer who has dedicated his life to being there when we (the community) needed it, now it’s time to give back,” Dillin stated in the release.
Dillin said 50/50 tickets will be sold from “dawn to dusk” tomorrow. More information on ways to donate can be found here.
