A neighbor noticed a Trebein Road home was on fire Sunday evening.
Crews were called at 7:15 p.m. to the two-story home in the 1900 block of Trebein Road, Beavercreek Fire Department Battalion Chief Nathan Hiester said.
"The fire appeared to start in the area of the fireplace in the back of the home," he said.
The fire was contained to the back area, he said.
No injuries were reported, Hiester said.
The residents were not home at the time of the fire, and the family's pets were not harmed, he said.
The fire, which caused an estimated $50,000 damage, remains under investigation.
