Motorcyclist taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital after crash in Auglaize County

AUGLAIZE COUNTY — A motorcyclist was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight after a crash in Auglaize County Wednesday night.

The crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. on State Route 66 north of Sandkuhl Road in Noble Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Douglas M. Kantner, age 45, of St. Marys, was heading south on SR-66 when he drove off the right side of the road and overturned in a ditch.

Kantner was transported from the scene by St. Marys Fire/EMS to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.

He was then transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
