The Social Security Administration announced last year’s most popular baby names in the United States.

The Social Security Administration began compiling a list of the most popular baby names in 1997, with names dating back to 1880. And each year, the administration released the list to reveal the effects of pop-culture on naming trends, a spokesperson for the agency said.
For 2022, Olivia and Liam were declared the most popular names for girls and boys, respectively. Olivia was a top choice for four years, while Liam topped the list six years in a row.
The most popular baby names in the United States were as follows:

- Olivia
- Emma
- Charlotte
- Amelia
- Sophia
- Isabella
- Ava
- Mia
- Evelyn
- Luna
Boys
- Liam
- Noah
- Oliver
- James
- Elijah
- William
- Henry
- Luca
- Benjamin
- Theodore
From this list, only one name was new to entering the top 10: Luna.
Although a majority of the names remained consistently popular through the years, the following names were labeled the fastest growing girls and boys names:

- Neriah
- Arlet
- Georgina
- Amiri
Boys
- Dutton
- Kace
- Chosen
- Khaza
- Eithan
