Miamisburg high school bands finish 2nd in WGI World Championships in Dayton

DAYTON — A local high school band earned a pair of second place finishes in the final day of the 2023 Winter Guard Invitational (WGI) in Dayton this weekend.

The Miamisburg Winds and Valhalla Winds each earned second place finishes, according to the according to the high school band’s social media page.

The Miamisburg Winds finished in second place in the Winds Scholastic Open as they performed at the UD Arena Sunday afternoon.

The Valhalla Winds also finished second in the Winds Independent Open.

“We could not possibly be prouder of both of these incredible ensembles!!” the marching band said on social media.

The WGI will return to Dayton next year.
