Miami Valley Meals will be hosting a Turkey Takeaway event for families in need of food this holiday.

This is the second year the event has brought Thanksgiving meals to the area.

Last year the organization distributed 10,000 frozen meals at two sites, and this year they’re shooting to distribute 15,000 meals.

The distribution event will be held the day before Thanksgiving, November 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Trotwood-Madison High School and The University of Dayton Arena.

Two satellite locations will also be available from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Omega Baptist Church in West Dayton and the Dayton Boys & Girls Club.

Guests are asked to stay in their vehicles and follow signs to lean them to the drive-through. Meals will be placed in the guest’s vehicles for them.

This event is being held with the support of presenting sponsor, the Feast of Giving.

For the past two years, the Feast of Giving has had to cancel its yearly tradition of serving guests Thanksgiving due to COVID-19.

In a release, Dr. Stephen Levitt, a team member of the Feast of Giving, said, “The Feast of Giving is both excited and honored to support Miami Valley Meals in sharing a common goal of providing Thanksgiving meals to those who want and need them in our community. These meals are prepared, provided, and served with dignity.”
