Mad River Mountain opens for the season with limited capacity

BELLEFONTAINE — Mad River Mountain opened this week with new COVID-19 safety protocols that have changed the way the resort will work this season.

Anyone who wants to visit the resort and mountain this year must reserve a time online this year, as the number of guests allowed at a time is limited. This is to help keep patrons safe and allow them to socially distance from others.

Masks are required to be worn on all parts of the property.

The resort will look slightly different, as the bar will be closed inside. Another change this season; cash will not be accepted.

The resort’s general manager, Trent Poole, said that since capacity will be limited, the focus will be on season ticket holders.

“Those customers and those guests who have been with us for so long,” Poole said. “This is us doing a little bit, as we can, to make sure they’re having the best experience possible.”
