The Eager Beaver Football Club put out 2,977 flags on the Ankeney Middle School football field Saturday morning to honor each person who lost their life.

“The flags will be a powerful reminder of the lives lost on that tragic day as our country comes together in remembrance,” a spokesperson for the club said in a social media post.

Along with the football club, the city of Beavercreek also held a special ceremony at the city’s 9/11 Memorial this morning.
