Kettering boutique matches toy donations for Christmas for Kids

KETTERING — The Shopping Bag and For the Love of Children partnered to help make sure underprivileged children have toys this holiday season.

The Kettering women’s clothing boutique presented the donations to FLOC Friday afternoon for the agency’s annual Christmas for Kids program.

"The partnership with The Shopping Bag and the good people of the Miami Valley will guarantee a very merry Christmas for the hundreds of families we serve," said Beth Mann, president of the FLOC board of directors.

The Shopping Bag at 3109 Far Hills Ave. served as the drop-off site for the program. Since the Dec. 15 start of the drive, the store has matched every toy donation.

Lauren Murphy-Zahora, The Shopping Bag president, said the store appreciates the opportunity to work with FLOC.

"We received an overwhelming response and we greatly appreciate the generosity by the community in making this a merry Christmas for many children in the Miami Valley," Murphy-Zahora said.
