DAYTON — Three vehicles crashed in Dayton Friday overnight. Officials suspected that this multi-vehicle crash was connected to another two-vehicle crash just a mile away where a driver was fleeing from authorities.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Dayton Police dispatched to the intersection of Catalpa Drive and Salem Avenue at 2:45 a.m. on reports of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch confirmed.
Three vehicles were confirmed in the crash, described as “one silver vehicle, one black car, and one truck,” dispatch said. The extent of the damage is currently unknown.
A person reportedly injuries following the crash and was subsequently transported to Kettering Health Dayton for further treatment. The severity of their injury is currently unknown.
K-9 units from Kettering Police responded to this crash, Kettering Dispatch said.
Authorities requested K-9 units from Kettering Police after a driver reportedly fled on foot following the crash, according to emergency scanners.
It is currently unknown if the crash on Salem Avenue and Catalpa Drive was connected to the two-vehicle crash on West Siebenthaler Avenue and Catalpa Drive, however county dispatch suspected that they were.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation into the three-vehicle crash.
