SPRINGFIELD — John Legend’s brother, Vaughn Stephens performed at Lincoln Elementary today.
Stephens performed a rendition of “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan.

Kacie Anderson, a Lincoln first-grade teacher, designed a custom song for her students.
“We started writing the words and it just kind of flowed from there,” Anderson said.
Stephens was asked to help with the project. He told News Center 7′s James Rider that being able to help with the project and reward the kids on a great school year was “a blessing.”
“Giving back to the kids is everything,” Stephens said.

A few of the students joined him on stage and helped the artist perform the song as he filmed a music video for it.
“We are very fortunate to have such valuable community members like the Stephens family who consistently give back and share their talents with our students,” said Lincoln Elementary Principal Mike Wilson.
