PITTSBURGH — A Jimmy John’s employee was attacked after an argument over petting his service dog, according to police.

Officers were called to the restaurant in Downtown Pittsburgh on Monday at around 8:30 p.m.
Police said officers found a man who was severely beaten when they got there, according to our news partners at WPXI.
Not far from Jimmy John’s, officers took two men into custody, Tyree Blue-Murphy and Damon Robinson.

Police said both of them had blood on their clothing and matched the description of the suspects.
Murphy told police that he got into an argument with the employee about petting the employee’s service dog, according to the criminal complaint. He said the argument then became physical after the victim grabbed his hair.
Robinson said he tried to break the fight up but became angry when he was hit and also began to attack the victim, police said.
The criminal complaint said video footage shows the two men stomping, punching, kicking and hitting the victim with a bicycle tire.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition but is expected to survive, according to the criminal complaint. He suffered serious head trauma and a brain bleed.
Murphy and Robinson are both facing aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy charges.
