CINCINNATI — Dozens of people gathered outside a Cincinnati hospital where Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin remains in critical condition.

Hamlin collapsed on the field during Monday night’s Bengals-Bills game.

At the corner of Piedmont and Bellevue Avenue a few Bengals and Bills fans could be seen holding hands.

“I think it’s really beautiful that they just turned a normal corner into a beautiful area with prayers and signs, candles... really wonderful,” Brandon Decker said.

Some stayed out for hours to show their support and love for Hamlin.

“It doesn’t matter if we’ve never met this young man,” Dustin Peters said.

Peters said he felt compelled to organize Tuesday’s candlelight prayer.

“I want him to know that everybody in Cincinnati, everybody back in Buffalo, everybody around the world is here for him right now,” Peters said.

Billy Jeffers said this is about more than just a game.

“It’s not about a football game, we’re talking about an actual human being and we’re just gonna be here to love and support the Bills team, Damar and his family,” Jeffers said.

Those in attendance said Hamlin’s Aunt came outside and said her nephew needs all the prayers he can get.

Hamlin’s uncle, Dorrian Glenn, provided a small update on his nephew’s condition in an interview with ESPN.

He said Hamlin was resuscitated twice, once on the field and again when he got to the hospital.

The 24-year-old remains sedated on a ventilator as he continues to recover. Glenn said to multiple reporters that Hamlin is on his stomach to help take pressure off his lungs.

“I know he’s still here, and I know he’s fighting,” Glenn said.
