Once the matchup was set between Kansas City and Philadelphia, workers at the Wilson Sporting Goods Football Factory in Ada got to work.

As reported last year by News Center 7, since 1955 the footballs used during the game come from the factory, which is about an hour and a half north of Dayton.

The game balls made in Ada are used by every NFL team, along with many top college and high school programs.

But in late January, it’s about the Super Bowl.

“Being of the story, being on the largest stage in the world in two weeks, so, it’s just the buzz,” said Kasey Patton, Wilson Football Factory Plant Manager. “It’s the pride that these people have, and the craftsmanship that goes on out there.”

The Chiefs and Eagles will get a shipment of at least 100 footballs, plus a dozen more for the kickers.

They will be stamped with the Super Bowl logo and the teams’ names.

Super Bowl LIX is on Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. between Kansas City and Philadelphia at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
