UPDATE @ 1:30 a.m.
Firefighters said the occupants of a house destroyed by fire were not home at the time the blaze broke out.
Officials said the homeowners are apparently out of town when the fire was reported by a passing motorist around midnight in the 5300 block of State Route 55.
No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

Firefighters from several departments in Miami County have responded to a fully involved house fire outside of Ludlow Falls.
Crews were dispatched to the 5300 block of State Route 55, near Ludlow Falls, just after midnight on a reported house fire with smoke and flames visible.
It was not known if the home was occupied or vacant.
