DETAILED FORECAST:

TODAY: Mainly clear and very warm into the evening with temperatures falling through the 80s.

A light haze still lingers overhead from wildfire smoke.

Staying dry into the night with temperatures dropping into the middle 60s.

TUESDAY: Another mostly sunny, hot, and dry day.

High temperatures climbing to around 90 degrees. Still a bit hazy.

An air quality alert is in effect for most of the Miami Valley throughout the day. Combining trips around town and limiting the use of gasoline-powered equipment is advised.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny and hot. Mugginess starts to come back. High temperatures around 90 degrees.

With increased humidity, we’ll watch those heat index values start to creep back toward the mid 90s.

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy, hot and humid. High temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. Heat index values in the mid 90s.

A few showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop into the afternoon and evening. Some strong to severe possible.

Damaging winds are the primary threat at this point in time.

FRIDAY: Becoming mostly sunny, but not as hot or humid. High temperatures in the lower 80s.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny, warm and nice, temperatures in the lower 80s.

SUNDAY: Partly sunny and warm. Chance of a few passing showers. Highs in the lower 80s.
