DAYTON — Power outages are a real possibility and it could also take time additional time for crews to get it restored with the Miami Valley under a High Wind Warning.
Winds are expected to reach between 50 and 60 m.p.h.

News Center 7′s Letitia Perry spoke with AES Ohio’s Mary Ann Kabel live this afternoon on News Center 7 at Noon.
Kabel said told power outages are real possibility today and restoration could take longer than usual.
“With these winds, there’s a high probability of downed powered lines,” she said. “Please treat every line as energized and call us immediately.”
High winds are a concern for crews working to restore power and safety is the number one priority for them, Kabel told Perry.
“With these wind gusts, (crews) they will take the extra precaution so they can restore power as quickly as possible,” she said. “With these winds, it may take a little more time than usual.”

As of 12:51 p.m., 133 AES Ohio customers are with out power but that number could increase.
Kabel encouraged people to be prepared and stay safe.
“It’s real important to stay prepared and safety is number one,” she told Perry. “We asked that customers be prepared.”
She said there are three steps you can take to stay prepared:
- Make a plan as to where to go in your home in case of an outage
- Build a storm kit so you have those essentials if you lose power
- Make sure you are informed if you experience a power loss
