‘Safety is our number one priority;’ How AES Ohio prepares for winter storms

MIAMI VALLEY — One major concern as winter storms move across the Miami Valley is possible power outages.

As of 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, around 600 AES Ohio customers are without power, mainly in Montgomery County.

“Safety is our number one priority and we’re watching the weather 24/7, 365 days of the year,” said Mary Ann Kabel, AES Ohio Director of Corporate Communications. “So we’ve already met in terms of mobilizing our storm teams, our line team and our vegetarian crews to be prepared for what’s ahead.”

Kabel says if you see a crew working, be careful as you drive around them today.
