Smoke could be seen for miles this afternoon from a Worley Road barn destroyed by fire.
A half-dozen goats inside the barn all made it out alive, and no injuries were reported following the blaze reported around 12:45 p.m. at a barn west of Tipp City.
The barn’s owner was working on an antique tractor outside the barn, when the tractor backfired and caught some hay on fire, which quickly set the barn ablaze, according to a Miami County Sheriff’s deputy.

A Miami County barn was destroyed in a fire today.
The fire was reported around 12:45 p.m. in the 4200 block of Worley Road in Miami County, west of Tipp City.
The barn owner was working on an antique tractor outside of the barn when the tractor backfired and immediately set the barn ablaze, according to a Miami County sheriff’s deputy on scene.
No injuries were reported, and about a half dozen goats that were inside the barn escaped to safety.
Fire crews from Tipp City, Ludlow Falls and West Milton responded.
