GREENVILLE — A Darke County grand jury indicted a 19-year-old former Darke County Sheriff’s Office corrections officer on a charge of felony rape.
Lathan T. Frech of New Madison was working as a corrections officer at the time of the alleged crime, but he is no longer employed by the sheriff’s office, according to our partners at The Early Bird Newspaper.
We are working to obtain more details regarding the alleged crime.
A Miami County prosecutor conducted the investigation into Frech, who has hired Troy attorney Jose Lopez, according to The Early Bird.
Frech was released on his own recognizance at his arraignment and he is scheduled for an Aug. 14 pretrial conference.
