Flying for Christmas? Here are your local flight updates

For those planning to travel by air for Christmas, flights from local airports out of the region do not appear to be impacted.

Early Monday, departing and arriving flights at Dayton International AirportJohn Glenn Columbus International Airport and at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport were all on time.

According to AAA, one in three Americans will travel this holiday season, a 4.4 percent increase over last year and the most on record. More than 100 million Americans will travel by car, 6.7 million will fly and 3.7 million will take to trains, buses and cruise ships.

Our WHIO Meteorologists say Christmas Eve and Christmas should be relatively quiet. There will be a few showers or snowflakes to the north on Christmas Day.

We’ll continue to monitor for any delayed or canceled flights, and it is suggested that you check your flight status for your respective city ahead of holiday travel dates.
