TROY — Upper Valley Medical Center received 600 doses of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine today.
10 frontline workers at the hospital received the vaccine today. 30 more staff members that treat Covid patients will get vaccinated tomorrow. More frontline workers will get vaccinated by appointment everyday at Upper Valley Medical Center from here on out.

Moderna’s vaccine, like Pfizer’s, is a two-shot vaccine. Recipients of the vaccine will need a booster 28 days later. With that in mind, hospital officials expect companion shipments to continue coming to Troy.
The hospital is among the first in the Dayton region to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to begin vaccinating front-line workers.
