DAYTON — UPDATE @ 1:10 p.m.:
Damage to a Dayton house is estimated around $15,000 after a fire broke out in the basement of the structure and spread to the attic Monday afternoon, according to firefighters.

Crews were dispatched to Melwood Avenue near North Gettysburg Avenue around noon and reported smoke was coming from the structure, according to emergency scanner traffic.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported.

Crews have responded to a reported house fire on Melwood Avenue in Dayton Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were dispatched to Melwood Avenue near North Gettysburg Avenue around noon and reported smoke was coming from the structure, according to emergency scanner traffic.
No injuries were initially reported and it was not immediately known if the house was believed to be occupied for vacant.
