Fire damages former office building

HARRISON TWP. — Firefighters in Harrison Township worked for several hours on Sunday to extinguish a fire in an unoccupied building that had recently been purchased.

The fire started just before 6:50 p.m. near the intersection of Philadelphia Drive and Markey Road.

Dave Mangle, Harrison Twp. Fire Department Battalion Chief, told News Center 7 that the fire damaged half of the building.

Mangle said the building had been purchased earlier this year and the owners were in the early stages of renovating the property.

Harrison Twp. Fire Department was assisted by the Trotwood Fire Department, Clayton Fire Department and Englewood Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
